Connect Google Sheets to any AI.

Paste a link and Claude or ChatGPT reads your Google Sheets, adds rows to your logs and fills in the cells you ask for.

Read from Google Sheets when someone asks. Nothing exported, nothing copied, and changes only where you allow them.

Google Sheets connects to FrontierOps once, and any AI your team uses, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or Perplexity, reaches it through that connection.

What it can do

What the AI can read in Google Sheets, and what it can do.

It can read

Read-only by default
  • Any spreadsheet the connected Google account can open, by its link
  • Tab names and sizes, so it reads the right tab
  • Cell values from a range, as displayed, as raw numbers or as formulas

It can do, if you allow it

Needs write access
  • Create a new spreadsheet, with the tabs you name
  • Add a tab to an existing spreadsheet
  • Append rows to the end of a table, pushing anything below it down rather than overwriting it
  • Write values into a range, overwriting what is there
  • Clear the values in a range, keeping its formatting

Google Sheets has no suggestion mode, so a write is final. Overwrites, appends and clears can be previewed first, writing nothing. Every write is on record.

Why connect it

How the Google Sheets integration works.

Half the business runs on spreadsheets: the forecast, the tracker, the weekly log. Connected once, anyone can paste a link and ask what a sheet says, or have the AI add this week's rows to the log without disturbing anything below it. Before it overwrites or clears cells it did not write, it can show you exactly what would change.

Questions

What people ask about connecting Google Sheets.

Can it find a spreadsheet by name?

No. It works with the spreadsheets you link, not your whole Drive: it cannot list, search, share, move or delete files. Paste the link, even one to a specific tab, and it reads the tab you mean.

Whose access does it use?

The Google account that was connected. It reads what that account can view and writes where it can edit, and every edit appears in the sheet's version history under that account.

Can a change be undone?

Not from here, which is why it can preview first: it reads the range and shows the current values next to the new ones, writing nothing, and makes the change once you approve it.

Is this a Google Sheets MCP server?

Yes, and one built for a whole company. FrontierOps gives Claude, ChatGPT and any other MCP client one connection to Google Sheets, set up once by an admin. What each role can read or change is decided in FrontierOps, and every call is on record, instead of each person running their own server with their own login.

Why not connect Google Sheets to Claude or ChatGPT directly?

A direct connection links one AI to Google Sheets through one person’s login, with that person’s settings. That works for one person. For a team it means no shared definitions, no single place to decide who can see or change what, and starting over when you switch AI. Through FrontierOps, Google Sheets is connected once, for every AI and every agent, under one set of permissions, with every call on record.

Works well with

One connection each. One set of rules across all of them.
